ORIGINS

About origins

As the name implies, Origins tells the story of the creation of the universe, earth, humans, and ultimately the things that happened in between. This is the first book I wrote to entirety. It was created as part of a book in a weekend competition, so the story is what you’d expect for something created in a weekend. It is terrifying and exhilarating to be able to share this work with others. Enjoy :)

Here they go again destroying everything I’ve worked millennia to create.  There’s a nuclear war breaking out again on earth, and this time will be the last time.  I have done all I could to keep these humans, earth, and heaven in tact.  I have sent human after human to be a leader and provide guidance.  I have created an angel for every human brought into existence to help.  At one point, I even created an entire other realm to aid in the rehabilitation of human souls. Yet the destruction they create today will be the end of all my creations.

My being is heavy as I write these words and reflect on all that has passed.  I shall miss the humans and their quirky natures.  They way they find trouble and beauty in everything.  I will miss the way they experience life and learning about what it is Ito be human.  I shall also miss the beauties of the earth itself.  The sun setting over a mountain, the lightning dancing across the skies, and the very energy star that sustains the life on earth.

But I’m getting ahead of myself.  Before I can tell you how it all ends, I should probably tell you how it begins.  So dear reader, here is my attempt to recollect and make sense of all that has transpired since I first had the idea of earth and its many life forms.  This is the origin story of my creations.

I’ve been referred to by many names since I created earth, God, Goddess, Zeus, Aphrodite, Ares, Venus, Universe, Yaweh, and many, many other names.  They are all me, and for the sake of this story, you can simply think of me as G.

In terms of heaven and earth, I am all things.  In terms of the multi-verse, I am one of many of my kind.  I’ll refer to the others as “beings of my nature” from here on out.  I may use the terms he or she, but keep in mind, these beings have no gender and their names aren’t really something that can be captured in human language.  I am one of the oldest and strongest of my kind, but there are several of us.  We’re like a family in many ways, but we’re also part of something larger than our own existence.

I can’t get into where I or the other beings of my nature came from.  It’s not something that cannot be described to be understood.  Here’s what’s important to know to aid in the understanding of what you’re about to read.  My kind has always been in existence.  We’ve taken many shapes and forms.  We’ve created galaxies, timelines, dimensions, plants, animals, spirits, and everything that ever existed.  We move in and out of time and space freely with a thought.  We are adventurers, lovers, creators, monsters, destructors, leaders, and followers.  We are all things.

A few billion years ago, my, hmmm.. my brother, I’ll call Z my brother.  Anyways, Z and I were swimming in the part of the primary Universe known to humans as the Milkyway.  A meteor  was passing full of elements that caught my attention.  If I remember correctly, there was gold interlaced with silver and gemstones of so many colors, shapes, and sizes.

“G,” Z said to me, “Do you admire the look of those elements?  Should I bring that meteor back to you?”

“No, let it go on its way.  I have no need for such elements other than to enjoy their beauty when I see them.”

Z stood in thought for a few hundred years and then shared a vision with me. “What if you had a purpose for those elements? What if you had existence you created that depended on those elements?  How would you behave differently?  Then would you want me to recall the meteor?”

I’d moved on from the thoughts of the elements to watching the fading light of a nearby star.  I loved watching the flames dance across the surface.  I imagine that feeling I had then inspired the way humans feel about watching the flames of a fire.  Maybe so, maybe not.  Maybe that’s just something Z gave them to feel nostalgic.

“I suppose I would learn to harvest the elements for my creatures.  Overtime though, I’d tire of mining and harvesting and leave my creatures to their own devices.  If I did it the right way, I could have them be self-sufficient beauties living in harmony like the rest of existence.  Energy and elements moving from one form to another.”

“Planets and life forms have been created before by others of our kind, what do you think you’d do differently?” Z was and still is a curious philosopher  - prying into the parts of my existence that I’d never considered.

I paused for a millennia to think and consider Z’s words.  When I had found an answer, I came back to him in that space and time.

“The planets and life forms that exist today are all structured in such a way that there is only slow and minimal change.  I’d want an existence where my lifeforms evolve and grow and learn to experience the world around them.  Perhaps someday, they’d venture to other planets and bring that sense of evolution and growth with them.”

I didn’t know then what I know now.  That my innocent idea of a world of evolving life would create chaos in so many different forms.

“G, I think you should create such a world.  You could be inspiration to the rest of our kind and do something new and uncharted. If you put a piece of each of us into your life forms, perhaps they could truly learn to evolve and grow.”

Having nothing better to do with my existence, I took Z up on this challenge.  I set about exploring the Multi-verse to study the other forms of life and planets that had been created.  There were planets with different gases, planets with microorganisms, and even planets with plant and animal life which in these early years of the multiverse was a rarity as only a few of my kind knew how to make such creatures.

I went back and forth from the inception to the destruction of planet after planet until I understood the different design elements I could use to create my own planet.  I would need a planet not too close but not too far away from an energy source, so it could stand-a-lone without my having to be present supplying life 24/7.  I would also need a planet that was self-sustaining beyond the existence of the life it would carry.  Finally, I had to have a planet that contained so many grains of beauty I could spend eternity wandering it and still find something new.

Most of the planets I studied started with minimal existence.  Some elements and microorganisms that evolved into plant and animal life.  These were my favorite planets because the evolution of life that occurred was beautifully unpredictable.  There was this one planet with a spongy moss like creature.  The creature provided life for organisms and cleaned the plants ecosystem, but if any organism took too much substance from a part of the spongy mass, it would be swallowed hole and turned into the mossy thing.

There were other planets that did not have life and only offered gases and elements. These had their own beauty in the way the rock like structures stood solemnly for thousands of years with no disturbance.  They might erode into different shapes over time, but when one shape eroded, ten thousand others took form.

My favorite planets were those covered in what earthlings call water.  I love the sound of the molecules as they swish and sway.  Though the planets with calm waters that never moved were equally enjoyable.  Then there were the frozen planets.  Covered in molecules too cold to move.  I could still hear their need for movement when I listened closely, but I did not create these planets.  As such, it was not my calling to respond to the needs of those molecules.

Having toured a wide variety of planets, I formed a list of the things I liked best and was determined to have my planet include these things.  At the time, I didn’t realize how difficult it would be to actualize an existence that drew inspiration from so many widely different sources, but I made it happen anyways.

Having considered how to create my planet my next task was to determine how to create co-existing forms of life.  Each lifeforms would have an essence of me within it for this is how all life of any kind has always been created. I would weave myself into existence with these plants and animals.  I’ll take a detour here to tell you about how much I misjudged the difficulty of creating co-existing life.

I crafted earth and a few neighboring planets around a star that was just coming to bloom in the universe.  A perfect source of eternal life. Most of the stars in the galaxy are formed by the merging of energies by my kind.  That’s definitely a watered down version of reality, but its the best way to explain it to a being not of my nature.  This particular star had been created during a flow of energy ceremony.  During these ceremonies, my kind come together to celebrate the present.  We each contribute a portion of our essence to the ritual and a star is formed.  As you can tell by looking at the night skies, we’ve done a lot of these ceremonies.

At first, I couldn’t get the water to stay on the planet.  It kept pulling away from the surface of the earth.  I pulled Z in to consult, and he recommended I consider some form of atmosphere to contain the contents of my planet.  I hadn’t realized this was a part of the other planets I had studied, but after he pointed it out, it was very clear to me this was the right answer.

I formed a layer around the planet of gases to keep the contents of my planet in place.  This too took considerable trial and error.  The first layer I applied caused all the rock like structures I’d created to crumble flat to the earth.  No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get create a structure strong enough to stand like the pillars I’d seen on the rock planets.  I adjusted the layer of gases to see if that might have an impact, and low and behold, I was finally able to get my rock structures to stand tall and proud.

At first, I had all land connected in one area of the planet.  The rest of the planet was water.  Having enjoyed the waters of the multiverse, I wanted to have as much of it as I could.  I left my land structure alone for a few million years as I worked on perfecting the ocean.  I didn’t have any frozen areas as I didn’t see a need to prevent my water molecules from dancing as they wished.  Instead, I created peaks and valleys beneath the waters, so they could explore caverns and different depths.  Some areas could see sunlight while other areas were completely hidden from sun.  It was around the time I was completed with the peaks and valleys that I realized, I had neglected an entire half of the planet not facing the energy star.

I’d seen other planets set to spinning while orbiting around their own energy star, so I thought I’d try the same. I was pleasantly surprised with how the sun shone for part of the spin while the night sky could be seen on the other part.  One day when I was resting on land and the earth was spinning away from the energy star, I looked at the night sky and thought it could use some form of compliment to the energy star.  Something to hold the attention of the skies while the sun was hidden from view.  This is when I created the moon.

At first, I thought it might be fun to create life on the moon, but I soon realized the way the earth interacted with the moon wasn’t ideal for sustaining life on both at this point in time.  Maybe someday I could get to that, but I had to narrow my focus to the earth until I had her as I wanted her.

As the earth took to spinning around the energy star, I wanted to create more life.  I put coral reefs and tiny, tiny organisms in the ocean at first.  I wasn’t sure how the water molecules would take to the introduction of these creatures, so I went about it slowly.  I started with a small batch of coral reefs on what would be considered the south east side of my land mass.  This offered optimal light and water movement for keeping the corals energized by the energy star and cleaned by the water molecules.

After I understood how the water would react to coral reefs, I created different micro organisms to live in the water.  These organisms could absorb light from the energy star to fuel their existence.  I gave them a short life span, as I wasn’t quite sure how they’d behave if they lived indefinitely. I could easily run into an overpopulation problem and have to restart everything.

These organisms did well and the water molecules enjoyed having their company.  Seeing this, I wanted to venture into something a little larger.  I created the first fish of the sea. Flea size, then tadpole size, and then the size of a healthy 17 pound fish.  Each time I created something new, I drew on the earlier creation to inform how to structure this newest creation.  Sometimes the earlier creation would continue to exist, but other times, I had it removed from existence, so I could focus my energies on the latest forms of life.

Eventually, I had giant sea creatures of every variety.  There were creatures with mouths the size of a building with 100 floors.  Some had spots, some had stripes, and some could change colors with the presence of light.  They each formed their own groups and one creature might eat another creature.  At first, I was off-put by the idea of my creatures consuming one another, but I was reminded of the mossy sponge I’d see that provided and maintained equal existence.  I was determined I could let these creatures self govern their seas and support each others existence.  All part of the self sufficient planet I was trying to obtain.

After the ocean grew full of self sustaining life that lived and died in a rather harmonious manner, I turned my creative efforts to land.  I must first create something habitable, and then I could begin transferring my sea creatures to the land.

It was around this time that Z and a few other members of my existence came to see what I’d been up to.  It’d been a few million years since I’d left my creation, and they were curious about what had pulled me away from dancing around the multi-verse with them.

“G, you’re presence has been missed, but look at what lies before us now.  There are many forms of you on this planet. How marvelous! Is it going as you expected?”

“Z, Alpha, Cheri, I am elevated to see you and hear your voices.  Welcome to my planet.  I have been working to create a self sustaining world, please let me show you what I’ve done so far.”

The group followed me around as I showed them the distance between earth and the energy star and explained how this provided the ideal climate for my earthly creations.  Then I showed them the moon and we laughed delightedly at the lack of atmosphere allowing us to bounce up and down along its surface.   Finally, I showed them the deepest parts of the ocean and paraded each sea creature for them.  Explaining how they recreated each other and how they transformed the life of one into energy for another.

“This is fascinating,” said Alpha.  “I see you have not yet started on your land structures.  What will you do with them?”

“Yes, I have spent so much time perfecting the ocean that I have only now started to plan for the land.  I will first make it full of plants as these can draw energy directly from the energy star.  Then once I have a sustainable ecosystem of plants, I will introduce smaller organisms.  I suspect, based on my time with the oceans the creation of these organisms will involve some mishaps, but I know I can do it.  Cheri, what do you think?”

Cheri gazed onto the land before us.  “It is an empty slate full of promise, G.  You will do great things here I am certain.  Tell me though, when I have created planets, my essence wavered from the effort to sustain them.  Are you not feeling depleted from the work? How will you sustain more life forms?”

I took some time, about a thousand years, to consider the way my essence felt.  Though I was providing a flow of energy to this planet, the energy star was providing more.  I felt more as if I were building my own strength to support such an existence. “I believe these lifeforms are providing me as much energy as I am providing them.  Their existence illuminates me, and they have become part of my energy flow.”

Cheri closed her eyes and took a deep breath, “Yes, I can feel your life force being recycled here.  Be careful you do not lose yourself to this earth G, we need you in our multiverse.  If it becomes too much, you must come to us.”

I embraced Cheri, Alpha, and Z and made a promise I would invoke them should this existence start pulling too much from me.  I told them I would bring them back when I had the land ready and was going to populate my first land creatures. Before leaving me, Z showed me how to create clouds for my day skies.  Before, they were clear blue and empty, but the introduction of the clouds created a never ending changing day sky.  It took a few thousand years before I fully understood how the clouds interacted with the land and water, but I came to understand the exchanging of water molecules.  I was so intrigued by the exchange of water that I was struck with the idea to exchange light energy between the clouds and the surface of the planet.

The creation of lightening almost destroyed everything I’d been working towards.  I knew too much energy would harm my sea creatures, so I had to find a balance between the exchange.  I sectioned off a portion of the ocean so no creatures except for the coral reefs could enter.  Then, I started to experiment with drawing down the energy in the clouds to the surface of the earth.  I tried raining sparks of fire, but that made the water boil. Worse still, it burned and destroyed all the reefs that were above the water level.  If the reefs were destroyed that would mean any future life on land would be destroyed by raining fire sparks.

I paused in my experimentation and studied the energy star.  The rays of light that came to earth were filtered in such a way that they didn’t burn the surface.  If I could condense the energy of the clouds into a ray of light, I might be able to control burning.  This proved to be more difficult than anticipated.  On my second or third try in combining the energies of the clouds, elements from the land were pulled to the surface and some were pulled into the clouds.  I had initiated magnetic force without really understanding it.  It took me a good two thousand years to get the metal pieces back to the earth’s surface, and there are some metallic elements still in the atmosphere today.

I finally figured out how to create lightning in a way that didn’t burn all the reefs but limited impact to a small radius.  Mostly though the lightning stayed in the skies and flashed back and forth from one part of the clouds to another.  Something was still missing though, so I called Alpha to help.

“Alpha, look at the beauty of the lightning I’ve created.  See how it webs across the cloudy skies.  I can’t understand, but I think something is missing.”

We were standing on a cliff near the ocean, and Alpha looked out over the waves as they pushed against the rocky cliffs.  “You are missing the music for the lightning to dance to my dear, G.  See how the water and the cliffs make a chorus so loud it cannot be ignored?  Your lightning is a spectacle to behold, and its presence should be accompanied by sound that can be heard and felt. Then you will have a creation that incorporates sensations of sight, hearing, and feeling.”

Alpha came back to me every year for ten thousand years as I worked on the sound of lightning.  Once it was so loud the creatures of the ocean hid in the deepest pits for a century.  I had to pause my noise making altogether until I could bring the creatures back out.  By that time, many had evolved to survive better in the depths and some did not return to the surface waters ever again.  In the end, we found that deep rumblings and sometimes loud cracking sounds seemed to fit harmoniously with the lightning when it got started.

All this time, I’d been experimenting with lightening in a small portion of the earth and limiting its ability to travel the skies.  Once we’d perfected the sound, we let lightning and thunder loose upon the skies of all the earth taking shape with the formation of the clouds and dissolving just the same.

I’ve got a couple more hours before this earth disappears.  After the time I’ve put into creating this, I am disappointed I have to restart.  Yet, I don't have to start from scratch, so I find that to be a silver lining in all of this.  Z and Alpha warned me this would happen.  Cheri contributed to this happening.  I have to go for now and oversee this process.  Dear reader, whoever you are and where ever you are, I will return.  There is still much I have to learn from what I’ve done and where I want to go.

Every ending holds a new beginning.  This is something I’ve come to know many times over the course of the creation and evolution of earth.  This isn’t the first time the earth has come to complete destruction. This is something I’ve dealt with thousands of times.  Each time, I go back to a different starting point based on the events leading up to the destruction.

Usually what I try to do is go back to the last point where I circumvented total destruction.  Then I work my way forward and try a different set of events and introducing new people, new information, and new creations.  Each time though, these earthlings find a path to destroy themselves.  Religion, education, politics, and so many other factors play into the end result, but it’s always the same.

This time, I’m restarting from the civil war era.  There are some things I need to understand about the path humans take from here. While I research the events that unfold a little more clearly, let’s get back to the story.

I was starting on creating the habitat for my land creatures.  I introduced grasses, flowers, mosses, fungi, and every type of plant  life I could think into existence.  I experimented with the shape of flowers, the scents, the colors of the leaves, and the way they changed with and without light.  Trees were special to me.  I created trees that produced fruits, nuts, and even sweet flavored saps.  Some trees had leaves while others had needle like foliage.  I played around with colors ranging from deep red to the bluest blue.  I was most fascinated by the way the trees interacted with the land.  Their roots drew up water from the soil while the leaves drew in molecules from the sky and released different, transformed molecules.  I didn’t expect this to happen, but I’d created another piece of my self sustaining planet, the lungs.

In an effort to keep my promise to have an ever changing world with endless beauties to see, I created rainforests, mountain forests, rolling plans, and even deserts. The earth slowly became a lush, bountiful garden.  Again, Z, Alpha, and Cheri came to view my work.

“It’s incredible how these plants grow together.  Look at the color palette you’ve created.  The way the flowers follow the light of the sun.  How did you get those leaves to look like that?”

“I particularly like the way those red berries stand out against the white flower of that bush,” Cheri spoke as she took a clump of berries off the bush, savoring the look and feel of them.  “What will you do with all this life?  Surely it cannot all exist forever?”

I hadn’t given thought to how these different life forms would live and die. With the sea creatures, it was easy to establish a pattern of life and death. With their recycling of one another’s energy, I simply played around with life spans over time until I found the right combinations.  Certainly there were creatures that lived beyond average,  but I thought it was important to have some variation in the things.

“I suppose they will need to live and die in their own ways.  I do not think the trees of the mountains will behave in the same way as the trees of the rainforests.  What’s more, I cannot have the grasses of the plains growing ever and ever, they wouldn’t be able to support their own weight after a time. Perhaps I will introduce seasons of different temperatures to aid in the life and death process of these plants.  Some shall live longer than others, but they will all return to the earth eventually.”

After that encounter with the others, I set about determining how to change the temperatures and in a way that would work with the natural cycles of the plants.  I wasn’t very good at this.  Remembering the water molecules that wanted to dance but couldn’t move on the frozen planets, I thought it might work to introduce a period of cold on the earth.   This way, the plants would stop growing, but after the cold gave way to warmth, they could revive or future generations could grow from what once was.

The trial and error with the cold weather turned into what have been called the ice ages.  I covered too much of the earth with freezing temperatures, and at this point, the lands I’d been cultivating had been separated into different land masses to support my various habitats.  The rays of the energy star hit the planet at different angles depending on where I was on the planet.  Closer to the top most part of the planet, the rays were more diluted while towards the middle of the planet, the rays provided concentrated energy and warmth.

It seemed reasonable to me to keep the cold in some parts of the earth with the expectation that the areas that remained warm would have different types of plant life span and plant matter recycling.  Perhaps my land creatures could help maintain the plant life from overtaking the land.  That was an idea I tucked away for later.

After the ice ages, I really focused on getting what have come to be known as seasons correct.  Again, I used the concentration of the energy from the energy star as a guide for developing seasons.  I created spring.  During this season, new plant life would begin to thrive.  In the warmer areas of the earth, this would be the start of the plant production cycles for plants that generated flowers, fruits, and nuts.

The summer came after the spring and was intended to be a time of growth of life.  The rays from the energy star were at a maximum during this time period for most portions of the earth.  Keep in mind, each part of the earth experienced seasons at different times.  Then there was fall.  During this time, the creation and growth of life would slow or stop altogether.  Some plants changed colors as they stopped generating new growth, and it was something I enjoyed.

Finally, in keeping with my understanding of recycling life, I created winter.  The lands that were not the most northern or southern on earth would still have cold times.  This would allow the lands to hibernate in a way.  Some plants died during this time, only to be reborn in the thaw of spring.  Other plants stood firmly against the cold elements, unbending and undying.  In some areas of the planet, the winter never produced enough cold to force plants into submission, so I had those plants minimize their growth.

The seasons and plant life were finally as perfect as I could make them.  From here on out, my focus would shift to creating land creatures.  By now, my sea creatures were flourishing.  Some had taken to coming up to the banks of the oceans and rivers and foraging the plant life on the shore line.  I used these most adventuring and daring creatures to initiate the creation of my land creatures.

I created lizard like creatures and frogs.  Small things that crawled about the earth and relied on the energy star for warmth.  They ate the plants and the berries created by the plants.  These creatures were all instinct, driven only to survive and reproduce.  There came a time when there were so many lizard like creatures that they started to move towards the cold regions of the world, and I watched as they didn’t survive the transition to fewer energy rays.

Seeing this, I resolved to make creatures that could survive in the cold, in the warmth, and in moderate climates.  I would create creatures that could eat leaves and creatures to eat other creatures, so they’d keep population levels under control.

Around this time, I started to create some very large creatures.  There was so much land to fill, so I figured I would make use of the space.  I created dinosaurs, animals as massive as buildings in the 21st century, even bigger.  Some walked on two legs, others walked on four legs, and some took to the skies and flew through the air.  I never made them strong enough to reach the layer of the atmosphere, as I was afraid of what would happen to them if they flew beyond it.

Some of my fiercest creatures were created during this time.   The fabled sabertooth tiger among them.  This creature looked scarier than it acted.  It would sit in tree benches or hidden amongst the grasses and pounce on other animals.  Sometimes this was done for hunting, but others, it was just for play.  These animals enjoyed the adrenaline rush of surprise.

Over time, I came to know the creatures I’d created as animals.  I didn’t classify them like they have been by science of the latest centuries of man, but I did know them each individually.  There were so many wonders in each of them how could I confuse one for the other.

Things got interesting when I noticed these animals were cross pollinating with one another.  I’d seen this with my plants and a little with the sea creatures, but for whatever reason, I wasn’t expecting it of them.  Over time, new animals were created with mix-matched traits from their parents.  It was fascinating the endless possibilities.

As time went by, Z came to warn me of a giant space mountain hurtling towards the direction of my earth.  “I can make it go a different route if you want me to, G.  I think it will destroy much of what you’ve built.”

“No Z, what must be must be.  If that mountain will hit my planet, I will find a way to recreate what’s been lost.”

The mountain came, and I watched as my beloved land creatures were demolished from the impact or changes in their surrounding world brought about by the impact.  It was a lesson I knew I needed to learn, nothing is permanent.  What is created will be destroyed.  It’s a lesson I still refuse to fully accept.

My creative spirit was broken for a time after that.  I’d grown so used to my creatures and the way they lived, that I’d fallen into what can only be described as a state of grief.  What was I doing creating something that would only end up being destroyed again?  Why should I venture to restart? Many of my sea creatures still survived, and I could feel their confusion about the changing of the world.  More surprising than my surviving sea creatures were the plants that somehow made it through the impact and resulting atmospheric changes.  I was in such a state of grief I forgot to try to remedy some of the issues on my own.

I had made a decision about letting the consequences of the mountain hitting the earth stand.  I would live with the consequences and try to prevent anything like this from happening again.  I would make this planet sustainable until the energy star died, and even then, I would find a way to take some of the life I’d created and get it to another planet with a younger energy star.

As I came to terms with the loss of my creation, I started to focus on what was next.  It’d been a few million years since the total loss of my pre-historic creatures. “What do you want to do next, G?  You have to move forward or leave this planet,” Z counseled me one day as I was sitting on a beach staring over the ocean.

I shifted some sands between my existence feeling the different energies and elements making them up.  The building blocks of one of my smallest building blocks are invisible to earthling eyes, but not to mine.  I knew every atom and the components that made up the atom, and the components that made up those components.

“I think I will create more life, but this time, I want a creature that has more of me in them than the rest.  I want a creature that can help care for this earth and maintain the beauty of the land and seas.  I’ve always said I want things to be self sustaining, so I guess I need these creatures to be self existing.”

“What does that mean?” Z asked.

“I think it means, they have to be able to think beyond survive and reproduce.  They will need to be able to form coherent thoughts like you and I.  They will need to be able to make decisions about how to live their lives, not just react to the world around them.”

“It might be dangerous putting more of yourself into these creatures, G.  Remember what happened when Cheri animated that plant on planet Paradise? It corrupted everything around it.”

This is a moment I reflect on often.  The first time I considered that my creatures could be anything but perfect.  “I will trust that my creatures will be like me, curious, creative, and nurturing.  I will trust they will be innovative and find new ways forward, and I trust they will find as much beauty in this world as I do.”

“That’s a big risk G, but I will be here to help you if you need it.”

“I know Z.  I know.”

To recap dear reader, I had created life on earth.  I took more than seven days to complete this work, as some origin stories will have you believe, and I created it all simply because I could.  No grand design of creating the ultimate super power of the universe or being worshiped and adored by beings that were essentially me.  No, I just wanted to create and I wanted my creations to be beautiful.

In these early days, there were only about 20 or 30 humans, so I gave them a lot of face time.  I restarted these early days several times as I figured out the best way to interact with the humans.  The first time I introduced myself to them, I came in my purest form.  They all went stark raving mad.  Most of them were so frightened by my presence they jumped off a cliff.  The few that didn’t jump to their deaths never regained the mental capabilities needed to survive and died off.

I went back to that day and altered my appearance to be less divine and more human like.  This time, they stared at me, curious but also nervous.  They attacked my human body as I slept that evening, but when nothing harmed me, again they went mad.

Again I tried, this time, I brought food and a wolf like creature with me to serve as a visible guardian.  They did not try to attack me and let me stay for a few days.  After several days of living amongst them, their leader finally had a private conversation with me where I told him the truth of what I was.  He was afraid at first, but then he started to ask questions.  HIs companion was equally curious, and she wanted to know if they were like me. At first I didn’t understand what she meant, but then I realized she wanted to know if they had the power to create like I did.

I did the best I could to explain they had some of my essence but not enough to create in the same way I created.  They could create more of their own, and they could use the world around them to create what they could think of.  Yet, they would never be able to create anything from nothing.  She seemed satisfied with this answer and asked me to teach her how to use the world around her.

Teaching Eve how to interact with the essence of the world resulted in about 100 resets.  The first 20 or 30 resets , she accidentally poisoned or set on fire the rest of the humans.  The rest of the time my teachings got out of hand, and one family member or another used what was taught in a manner that led to destruction.  Each time there was a reset, I was tempted to share with her the memories of what had transpired,  but I was concerned that might break her human mind.  Instead, I learned how to caution her against certain types of essence transfer.

I modified who could comprehend and use essence, and I was more careful in what parts of essence transfer I taught.  In the end, I found a path forward where she became the first Shaman and healer.

While Eve learned about essence transfer from one being to another, Adam took interest in learning how to transform matters into tools.  He wanted to make buildings as strong as the stone cliffs around them but didn’t understand how to do so.  We spent two months of his existence turning mud and sand into a primitive form of brick.

Then he taught the rest of his people how to build, and they created structures that offered more protection than the open sky.  They started to build communities and towns.  The starting foundations of civilization itself were born.

I taught Adam and Eve’s people many things including language, writing, how to hunt, how to fish, and how to live off the land.  I taught them about the changing patterns of the skies, and I taught them how to harness lightning for fire.

In fact, there are so many things I taught them it has become difficult to put it all into words. As the years passed, Adam and Eve had children, and their children had children.  Adam and Eve were aging and ready to pass from this world, so they called to me.

“God,” they called to me, “what will be come of our people and what will become of us?”

“I do not know what the future will hold, but the teachings and lessons you have shared with them from me will carry on.   As for you both, your essence will return to me, and your human bodies will return to the earth.  Do not be afraid for your essence that illuminates you even now will live on.”

“But will we still be as Adam and Eve? By coming back to you will we cease to be us?”

“Z must have been talking with you both to have such wide questions.”

Adam smiled and said, “Yes, he has been here and asked us about our thoughts of leaving this earth.”

“It is not that we are afraid, God, as we trust in you as a creator.  It is only that we are so happy with our existence, we would like to retain it.  Is there a way our essence can maintain our being when we pass on?”

“This is something I have never before considered, Eve.  You must give me time to think on this.”

“Please do not think long, God.  We are old and weary.  Our grandchildren’s children are already grown, and we have sown the seeds we must sow.  Our time is ending.”

I left them there that night, under a clear sky with a full moon, and I sought out Z’s help.

“What am I to do for them.  Their essence will remain part of my being, but now that they have existed as beings.  Should I keep their essence in tact outside of their physical form?”

“This is a new path G.  When an energy star dissipates, its essence comes back to each of us, and it does not retain its shape.  Its existence is only temporary.  What would happen if you kept every human for all time in existence after they left the earth?  Where would their essence go? What would they do with their essence?  Do you think you could sustain their essence?”

“I do not know if I could sustain their essence on my own.  If I tried and failed, would you help me?”

“Of course I would help you, but G consider the help you are asking for.  Would you have me share my life essence with the creatures of your world? Is that the help you seek?”

“ I cannot yet answer that question, Z.  I do not know what could unfold if I travel down this path.”

“It doesn’t sound like a good idea.  I caution you G.”

“Yes, dear Z, I hear your caution.  Yet, I cannot turn away from what my humans have asked of me.  It is something that seems so simple, how could I possibly tell the no?  I have given them life, and they have come to appreciate the gift.  I must try something.”

I paused time for a few hundred years as I thought about how to proceed.  Adam and Eve requested a life after this.  A way to keep their existence whole.  Yet, all of my other creatures existed in a cycle of life, death, and rebirth into other forms.  If I created a means for humans to exist beyond life on earth, could I sustain the endless numbers of life forms that would come into existence?  Given the numerous forms and shapes my plants and other animals took and evolved into, I could not be certain what I would be supporting in a distant future.

Yet if I did not provide some way forward for Adam and Eve and their future generations, then would I be living up to my promise of a beautiful world with never ending possibilities?  I must do something.

I wrote ideas into the sky and considered each of them.  I could turn them into energy stars.  I could retain their essence in its current form and keep them in my company.  I could replant their essence into new human bodies.  Perhaps I could let them choose what they desired.

This is the point in time where I determined I would give my humans total free will over their lives as well as their deaths.  I found Adam and Eve in their home and invited them for a walk with me.

“My dearest loves, I have thought long about the the request you have made of me.  Previously, none of my creations have existed in their forms after their lifespan.  However, I have given you as humans more of my essence than any other creature before you.  I wish to pursue an existence where your request can be met.  I have consulted Z and the others, and they are of the same mind as me.  I shall create a world to harness your essence in its current form outside of your human bodies.  Once there, you and all who come after you will have  a choice of how to proceed with existence, but once you make your choice, there can be no alteration to your path.  I must caution you to choose wisely, as I must establish a way forward that I can maintain for all. Do you understand.”

Adam took Eve’s hand, and they stared into each others eyes, searching one another’s minds.  Adam was uncertain, but Eve was ready to jump in to whatever paths I might set before her.

“What are the choices, God?” Eve asked as she tore her gaze away from Adam towards me.

“Upon leaving this world, your essence in its current form will join me in another realm.  You will have time to exist in that realm as you are and explore what it has to offer.  That realm will allow you to have anything you desire, see anything you desire, and go anywhere you desire.  You will be able to look backward and forward in time, but you will not be able to interact with time or the inhabitants of time here on earth.  After a time of existing in this plane, I you will be able to choose with you will do and where you will go.

Your options will be as follows, you can stay in that realm with me. You can pass out of existence as you are and be reabsorbed into the my essence.  You can maintain your essence and live another life on earth in a different human body.  Those will be your three choices.  There is no wrong choice, for there is only choice."

Neither Adam nor Eve had questions but only sought to sit with me for a while and gaze at the stars as we contemplated the possibilities.  As the night sky began to fade and the sun shone on the horizon, Eve was the first to speak.

“God, you are good. You have heard our request and granted us most favorable a path forward in existence.  We do not know what this other realm will be like, but we are honored that you would provide for us.  When the time is right as you see it, we will honor you in your realm for all time.”

So began Heaven as it is called today.  I didn’t actually create anything, but rather the essence or souls of humans leaving earth were maintained in their form and brought to me.  When they reached me, I, Adam,  Eve, or another loved one who had already passed on would teach them the ways of the realm and share with them the options they possessed.

There were many who did not want to stay in the realm and asked to be sent back to earth.  I complied, and they were reborn into another body.  Some were bewildered at the experience and asked to be set free and sent back into my essence.  There were some who wished to go back to the lives they had led, but I could not send them back.  That was not in the plan.

I found that there were equal numbers of souls who stayed, left, and were reborn. It was another form of my self sustaining world that I had wished for without understanding.  Z questioned me at length about how I maintained their existence after they left their human form.  He asked how I could manage it all while still maintaining all of the existence on earth.  I told him I thought I had grown stronger over time with the practice of sustaining so many life forms on earth.

For a long period of time, the humans existed and thrived.  They taught one another the same teachings year after year, century after century.  As their population grew, some of the humans took to journeying to different parts of the world.  I listened in on their thoughts form time to time.  There were fears and dreams intermixed with joys, pains, sadness, and all the feelings a human will experience.

There were too many humans for me to listen in all the time, and I found I wanted to hear all their thoughts.  There were so many thoughts, and often times, I learned a thing or two about how to make their world a better place.  First, these thoughts brought me to create angels.  Humans had learned to pray and offer thanksgiving to me in honor.  They considered the changing of the seasons or the changing of the tides as a sign of my favor or disfavor.  I had to reset the world more than a few times because of the way humans interpreted my inability to hear all their thoughts at once.

In the end, I created angels to be there in my absence.  One angel for each human that came into existence.  Upon the end of a human life, the essence of a human would be guided by the angel assigned to them at birth.  To instruct and guide the angels, I created the archangels.  Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel.

To Michael I entrusted the banner of protecting all of human kind.  He would serve as my right hand and bring to my awareness any human matter that should require my attention. He played a large role in all major conflicts of man from the Crusades to the first nuclear bombing.

Gabriel was to be my voice to the humans.  I would send messages through him to the other humans and to the their corresponding angels.  His purpose was to share wisdom and pass along messages of hope along with guidance for the future.

Then there was Raphael.  My angel boy as I affectionately refer to him.  Raphael was to to be a guide to the angels and to the humans as they went along their life journeys.  A protector and a leader, Raphael has been and remains a guiding beacon for man kind.

Finally, there was Uriel.  The angel created to be a guiding moral compass for mankind.  Uriel was tasked with helping angels understand right from wrong and sharing those lessons with the humans.

As each of these arch angels grew to understand their roles, they asked me for more angels to assist them with their teachings.  The numbers of man were many, and they could not keep up with the pace of teaching the angels and men on their own.  As such, I created angels to work directly with the arch angels.  Each having a purpose to support their primary arch angel.

It started out as an organized structure, but somewhere along the way, there was what I’d call dissent among the ranks.  There were angels, who, seeing the free will of many desired to have their own free will.  The Arch Angels resisted the urges of these lesser angels at the time.  Telling them to mind their duties and assist with the humans.  After all, they were created and designed for a specific purpose.

The stories of Lucifer and the other fallen angels derive from the group of angels who wanted to exist beyond the purpose for which they were created.  There was not a giant war that ripped apart the heavens. There was, however, a giant gathering of all the angels and all the beings of my nature.  I sat next to Z, Cheri, and Alpha, and below us sat the arch angels.

I didn’t know it then, but after reviewing time and the events of the past, it turns out Z, Alpha, and Cheri had each had their own conversations with the angels who were standing against their nature.  I have never been able to bring myself to listen to what each of them said to the angels they spoke with.  I did not want to face the truth of one or more of them being responsible for changing the nature of a being I brought into existence.

“Lucifer, you stand here today before the assembly with a declaration of separation from your given nature.  Now is the time to share your thoughts and plead your case before all existence.  Else, you will be cast aside with nothing but a memory of your self betrayal,” I met Lucifer’s eyes directly as I said this, and I could feel the rumblings of thoughts and feelings inside of him.  He was full of passion about his cause, and he was ready to make his case.

“G, I come here with a group of angels seeking the right to choose my own nature, our own nature.  Having served for a thousands of years beside you and the rest of the legions of angels, we have come to an understanding of what it is we want to do for the remainder of our existence.”

“And what do you suspect the remainder of your existence is Lucifer?” Z cut off Lucifer’s speech.

I glared at Z, “Not now, let the angel speak freely without interruption.  This is the only time and platform that will be given.  Apologies for the interruption, please continue,” I nodded to Lucifer to resume his speech.

“It has been our pleasure to serve, and it has been our pleasure to experience this existence in the roles you have given us.  Yet, in watching the humans having their free will and squandering it, we have been moved to a desire of having our own free will.  We seek the right to act as we would please, and we seek the right to remove ourselves from the service for which you have created us dear, G.” Lucifer stopped speaking and looked to me unwavering.

There were thousands of angels who had taken to this cause, but I did not suspect all of the angels wanted to leave their post.  Still, this desire to waiver from the paths I had set forth was not something I’d expected in the beginning.  I knew this conversation was coming thousands of years ago when the first rumblings from the angels were heard. “Why do the humans have free will and we have to serve them? Are we not greater beings than they?”

These grumblings subsided for a time, but I knew they wouldn’t go away on their own.  Eventually they would have to be dealt with.  Either the angels would revolt or accept their path.  There was no middle ground.  The question was, how to deal with the revolt, and what to do from there.

“I have considered this matter, Lucifer, and I have an offer that can be made.  I understand the desire to be more than you are.  You are after all crafted from my very essence, and my own essence creates more than what I am every moment.  However, what you ask is not a small ask.  The essence used to create you and your fellow angels has been embedded within you and contains everlasting existence.  If I were to remove you from your duties, what would you do for the rest of eternity?”

I had ideas about what the angels who left their service might do, but I wanted to hear what they’d thought up amongst themselves. Perhaps they’d seek to wander the universe.  Maybe they’d want to have their own world free from humans, free from my influence.  What if they wanted to create their own worlds?  There were endless options for what they could possibly want.

“Should we be freed of our duties, we would seek to remain in this existence with our essence in tact and connected to you.  We would wish to have the options the humans have upon death.  To leave existence and be reabsorbed into your essence, to remain in your realm for eternity exploring and enjoying, or to walk the earth in human form.  We have discussed and feel these options would be fair.”

“Who is the judge of what is fair?  Is that not I? What if I did not think it were fair to the other angels who chose to remain in their natural purpose? What if I am affronted by your desire to turn from your very nature? Your wishes while valid, wound my creative nature, Lucifer. Please understand what you ask for is not an easy ask for me for many reasons.”

“Would you deny us then?”

“I did not say I would deny you.  I only asked for your understanding of what this decision means to me.  This would alter the fabric of the existence and the world I have created in ways I cannot foresee.  Should you live on forever in eternity with me, the fellow angels who remain in their post would be disrespected in a way.  Their commitment does not waiver, so it would not seem right to exalt the anti-nature of the thing you ask.  Should you walk the earth plainly knowing what you know, the humans would turn to you as gods.  Having turned from your natures, how could I trust you to be the leaders the humans would need? “

I could see the hope draining from his face as I spoke. “I do not seek to remove you hope for a different way of existence Lucifer, but I do seek to share the graveness of what you ask.  I could not allow your existence to match that of the humans for you are not human.  You are angels, meant to aid the humans in their labors on earth.  No, you could not have the same options as the humans, but you will have options. Here is what I can offer to you, Lucifer and the angels who seek to leave their posts.”

The whole of the heavens came to a complete silence.  The tension between all the beings would have been palpable to an average human.  To me and the other beings of my existence, it was like a giant tsunami of tension breaking against our nature.

After a long moment of absorbing and feeling the tension, I finally spoke, “Here is what I will grant you and those who wish to follow.  You will have the freedom to roam the earth, but you will lose most of your angelic abilities.  You will not be able to re-enter this realm should you leave, but I will create another realm for you to exist in.  It will not be the same, but it will be yours to construct and do with what you will.  You will be cut off from the rest of your angelic kind who remain.  There will be no coming back once your decision has been made.  You will have the power to create in the realm you are given, but you will not have the power to create in any other realms.  Do you understand what it is I am offering, Lucifer?”

Just as the heavens stood still before I had spoken, so too were they silent now.  The tsunami of feeling dwindled to a near stop.

“Is this the only way?”

“I wish I could offer you more, but it is the only way.”  What I left unsaid in those moments were that my abilities to create and maintain existence were already stretched thin.  I doubted my ability to maintain what I’d created while letting the angels turn from their nature and live as humans did.  “I will retain the option for returning to my essence and dissolving back into the larger being for any angel who remains or leaves. An eternity in a role chosen or given can be too much, and I will always provide a way back to me.”

Now Z stood up and made a gesture to speak.  I nodded my approval. “G, the option you will give your creations do not tie them into the ecosystem of life, afterlife, and essence you have so carefully worked towards.  I have another proposal I think you should hear.”

I was surprised that Z would have kept another idea hidden from me until now.  However, I was curious to see what he had considered.  He was right, this diversion would not be in line with the original design of things, but it was a small sacrifice for my creations to fully express themselves. I could make it work, unless Z had something better.

“If you look up on the earth, G, there are humans who also go against their own nature.  Perhaps Lucifer and the rest of the angels who are seeking a different path could serve a purpose to aid these humans.”

I reflected for a period of time, maybe 100 years or so on the ways humans went against their very nature.  There were humans who went too far in their drive to survive and killed masses with no regard.  There were other humans who subjugated others to their will through the use of pain.  Still there were others who twisted the words of truth and love to gain god-like power over masses of people.  There were even those who used the very essence I had given them to maintain power and control over others they did not truly love.

Each of these individuals had a path that contributed to their abuse of their natures.  To this point in time, none of these individuals had created a cause for reset, but I could see things escalating as the humans continued to multiply and grow.  Perhaps Z was on to something giving these wayward creatures more guidance, but would guidance from a wayward angel be the right type of guidance?

“I can hear your thoughts about the right kind of guidance,” Z interrupted my period of silent contemplation.  “It is a question I have weighed, and I believe the similarities of breaking from one’s nature and finding a path forward could be promising. Lucifer and his fellow angels have a better understanding of what it means to be something they are not meant to be, so they have experience to draw on.”

“I am not yet convinced, Z.  The angels were created for a specific purpose of guiding humans, if there are wayward humans, should not I invest more time in instructing the legions of angels who are currently guiding them.  Instead you suggest I remove them from their posts and replace them with angels who came to me with a desire not to serve?”

“I would not advise removing any angels from their posts.  I simply suggest we find a purpose for these diverting angels to aid in the recovery of wayward humans.  Their essence becomes dimmed the more they engage in self-harming acts, as you have seen.  Perhaps their essence could be renewed after spending a period of time in the realms you set aside for Lucifer and the other angels.  They could show these wayward humans what it means to leave behind one’s true nature and provide a path back to their true self.”

I studied the Lucifer’s thoughts and found he was willing to accept this new task.  It seemed most of the other wayward angels were inclined to help realign the essence of the humans who fell from their natural paths.

“May I speak, G?” Michael, who had been silent for the entire proceeding met my gaze.

“Of course, Michael.  You are the leader of the legions and I have given you the most of my essence of all angels.  What do you have to say about all of this?”

“It is with a heavy sadness that I see Lucifer and the other angels struggling to accept their roles in this existence.  Though I am saddened they wish to break rank, I can understand their need to know themselves more fully and create a path for themselves.  I have felt that calling in my existence, and I believe that stems from being attached to your independent and creative essence.  You are after all free to do anything and everything you like, and you live in each of us.  I agree with Z that this group should have a purpose to keep them intertwined with your creations.  Casting them off to their own realm would be like being separated from a piece of my own existence.  I am sure the other angels will tell you the same.”

Here, Michael looked to the other Archangels for support.  Uriel was the first to speak, “As Michael has spoken, it would be a difficult separation to lose these fellow angels from our existence.  We must maintain connection as they are part of our legions.  As Z has pointed out, there is concerning trouble with wayward humans.  There are so many events that occur in the course of a human life which make it easy for a human to fall from their natural path.  If Lucifer and the other angels would be willing to serve a purpose in aiding these humans, they can still follow a portion of the path you originally laid and pave a new path for a different way of existence.”

Uriel sat, and Gabriel stood to speak.  After a nod from me, he began to speak, “Whatever path is set forth for our fellow angels, I will be a liaison between you, G, the primary ranks of angels, and this new diverted group of angels.  Lucifer has become a natural leader for their group, so I will form an alliance with him and carry back important information directly to you.  Whatever happens, I will continue to serve as your voice and messenger.  I, like Michael and Uriel do not wish to be separated from these angels.”

When Uriel had finished speaking, the whole of the heavens looked to Raphael for his thoughts. He sat quietly before meeting my gaze, “G, you know my mind about this already.  I am saddened that I could not be a better leader to this group of angels who seek a different path.  If there is more I can do to make this existence better, please name it.  Yet, I do not think there are any actions I could take to sway the hearts and minds of those seeking a change.  I will serve as a guide for any of the wayward angels in any endeavor that will be to come regardless of what you determine, G.  I am here for each of you,” Raphael looked out over the masses of angels gathered in all time and space.  “Each of you is special, and each of you is deserving of a fulfilling existence.  I will always be a guide for you in any situation.”

“Cheri, Alpha, do you have anything you’d like to offer?” I wanted to hear what my fellow kind thought about all of this.  Though they did not lose any of their own essence to the world and creatures and angels I’d created, their thoughts and direction always brought clarity to any situation.

Cheri glanced at Alpha, and they exchanged some thoughts between them.  Then Cheri stood to address the gathering. “It is a grand adventure you have set out upon, G.  Each adventure has unexpected twists and turns, and the abandonment of one’s designed nature is so unexpected it could cause whiplash.”  Cheri liked to throw in what she considered jokes anytime a matter of grave importance was discussed.

“Alpha and I agree something should be done, and it would seem in keeping with your original intentions to repurpose the existence of these angels.  However, we would caution, every step in a new direction cannot be undone.  What decision you make next will impact all of your creations in ways you cannot yet understand or predict.  We will be here to support you as you learn to navigate the resulting twists and turns, but we hope most of all you expect everything that could go wrong to go wrong.

Recall when you burned the world over and over as you tried to create lightning.  Recall again how you swallowed the earth in ice when you were experimenting with climates.  Then there was the dissolution of nearly all animal life with the impact of the mountain.  Through all these things, you persisted, but each time, your essence changed.  Not for the better or for the worse, but it changed.

Your ability to adapt to change and move forward with what comes next will be tested time and time again.  This change could deplete you, G.  Though we are infinite beings, we have never before created to the extent that you are creating now.  Be cautioned in your pursuits, but know you will have our support always.”

“Lucifer, what say you to the notion of rehabilitating wayward souls?” I directed the question to Lucifer, but sent out a mental message to the masses of angels I knew wanted to leave.

“We will accept this task, but what will that mean for us and our connection to this existence?”

“The ruling stands that you will not be allowed back into this realm.  You will be free to collaborate with the angels who remain in the earthly realm.  I will create a realm for you all to call your own and you will retain creative powers in that realm.  The angels who remain will not be allowed to enter your realm, just as you will no longer be able to enter this one.  Your purpose will be to help wayward souls choose a path forward.  As spoken before, they will still be able to return to my essence, but only after a period of time wherein their essence can become whole again.  They will join you in your realm where you and the other dissenting angels will help them come back to their own path. When they have recovered, you will give them the same options as the other humans have - to come back to earth in a new form, to return to my realm in their current form, or to return to my essence.”

The angels buzzed in contemplation.  Most felt happy to have an opportunity to retain some level of service, and thought this was fair in combination with the ability to create whatever they wanted in their realm.

“How will we know how to help these souls, G?”

“Help them understand their original nature and bring them to an understanding of why they left their original nature.  Many on earth already do such soul work while they are living.  They question the things they have done which they could have done differently and contemplate why they acted as they did.  The ones who find the most success promise to themselves to be better the next time, and the next time the situation arises, they make a different choice with better results.  Your realm should provide time to think, relive, and re-do the things which could have been different.  You will come to learn in your own time the most effective means of helping these wayward souls come back to their original essence.

I will make an exception and allow the Arch Angels access to your realm.  Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel have knowledge and wisdom that will aid you in your new duties.  Will you accept?”

“With a condition, G.  I ask for one condition.”

“What is that?”

“We will set a counsel that will be held at regular intervals wherein we will review successes and failures of this path, and with your guidance, we will course correct.”

“It is agreed then.”  That was the end of the first gathering of its kind.  We had one more gathering of this nature to review the successes and failures, but that story will have to wait for another time. This moment in time and space resulted in the creation of what the modern day Christian religions would call hell.  Actually, there were several things that resulted from this day and this decision.

One by one, the dissenting angels were removed from the realm of Heaven and given leave to roam the earth and the new realmI had created for them.  We did not call this realm hell though I cannot recall what the original name for this place was.  For a time, the angels who remained and the dissenting angels found ways to connect with one another on earth.  They shared stories of the work they were doing, and they found the separation was tolerable.

I checked in frequently in the beginning of these times with Lucifer and many of the other angels to understand how this new realm was treating them.  They were all eager to create something of their own, though they didn't quite know how to create.  I spent some time working with a group of these angels to show them how to create.  The scope of their power was limited, so they couldn’t recreate planets or never ending life forms, but they could break off pieces of their own essence and create other spiritual beings.  These they could direct to behave in any manner they wished.

A new process was put in place to determine where the essence of a human would go after life on earth.  If the human lived in line with their purpose, they were brought to my realm.  If the essence had confusion about its purpose after departing earth, it would be sent to the other realm to aid in finding its place.

At first, the other realm offered a place for souls to reflect and relive the harrowing moments of life.  Many who entered that realm chose to remain, while equal numbers sought to come to the heavens.  There were also those who chose to dissolve into my essence.  It seemed as though this alteration to the original plan might work out for the betterment of all in my existence, but i’ve come to find that was not the case.

I’d mentioned Z, Cheri, and Alpha all had their own conversations with Lucifer and the dissenting angels.  Though I didn't listen to the context of those conversations, I have since come to understand the intent of those conversations. My spirit is not broken, but it is wounded at the actions my fellow beings took against my creations.  They contributed to the downfall of all that I had created.

“G, how are you faring with the division of the realms?” Z asked me at a moment in time when I was sitting in the Heavens listening in to the beautiful sounds of the earth.  I was pleased with the progress I’d seen among mankind as the two differing groups of angels now worked together for a more perfect balance on the earth.

“I think dear Z this was a good idea.  The others have adapted nicely to their own realm, and it has not been as self depleting as I thought it might be.”

“But you have not come to any energy star creations for a millennia, G.  Surely you must be tapped out of essence to share if you cannot come to our rituals.”

I had not realized I’d been absent from my fellow beings for so long.  I knew my absence would be accepted, but the others would have missed me.  I had been so focused on my own creations and devices that I’d neglected my fellow beings.

“Z, I am sorry I have been absent.  In creating this existence and riding the ups and downs of managing it all, I’ve forgotten my duty to you all. I will be at every ritual from here on out.  I will better learn to balance my responsibilities over this existence with those of my own nature.

“Do not be sorry, G.  The others asked me to come to you and offer aid in your creations, so you can more freely join us when you desire.  What can I and the others do to lesson your responsibilities?”

I hadn’t thought about how I might invoke the help of the others for a long time.  Once, they’d promised me to support me if it became too much, but I’d never stopped to reflect on what too much was for me.  “I do not know how to answer to that yet, Z.  Let me think on this for a time.”

“I knew this wouldn’t be something you’d considered, so I came prepared with an offering.  You have been operating two realms and earth all at once while also being your eternal self.  What if I and the others took one of the realms off your essence?  What if we took it over, so you could refocus on your original plans.  We could work in tandem with you to maintain the balance and systems you have in place, but our essence could power the other realm.”

“Z, this is so generous of an offer.  I would not think to put that kind of responsibility on you or the others.  It is too much to ask.  I do not think I could accept this.”

“Do not be stubborn in holding on to your creations, G.  You know you could use the help, and you also know we’ll work to maintain the existence in a way that resonates with what you desire.”

Z had never been so wiling to use his essence for anything other than his own devices.  I was taken aback by the magnitude of this gesture.

“What’s in it for you, Z?”

Z looked offended at this question, but he knew as well as I that he served his own purposes.

“Honestly, G, I want more of you back in my existence.  You are so far gone from the rest of us with your duties and responsibilities here.  It is selfish, but I want more of you.  I also would relish the ability to create and maintain other existences to the extent that you do.  I’ve never seen another being create the way you do, so I hope to learn about creation through these efforts.”

“In the hopes that you will someday create your own earth and related realms?”

Z smiled wildly, “Yes, I hope to create my own realms someday, G.  Will you please let me help you, so I can learn?”

I could not have predicted what would become of my other realm when I siphoned off my essence and put Z’s essence in its place.  Cheri and Alpha contributed a small fraction, but Z volunteered to replace the most, as he had ambitions to be like me at a future point in time and space.  At first, the transition went pretty smoothly.  Z took over more and more of the essence provisions in a short period of time, allowing himself the time to build an understanding of the flow and transfer of essence.

A few thousand years into Z’s overtaking of the other realm, Michael and Lucifer came to me.  Lucifer was not supposed to be in our realm, so Michael had coordinated a meeting between all of us in the mountains of an area once known as Greece.

Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Lucifer and some of his supporting angels met atop a mountain overlooking land and sea in different directions.  It was a sunny day when we met with no clouds in the sky.  The waters reflected as blue as the skies, and the wild mountain flowers were in full bloom.

The others had arrived before I did, and as I sat among them, I could sense the tension in the air.  “What is it that has everyone on edge?” I looked from one to the other trying to gain an understanding of the thoughts and tensions among them.

“Something is wrong, G,” Lucifer was the first to speak. Our realm is not what it once was, and I think it is changing all of us.”

I could see the fear, yes that was fear in Lucifer’s face.  This brave being who lead a group of dissenting angels had never shown fear or really any other emotion before today. Yet here it sat on his face plain as the sunlight.

“I can see you are afraid of something Lucifer.  What is it that is changing? Can you help me understand?”

“I do not know if I can explain it.  My entire being is shifting. It is as if the marrow of my existence has been replaced with something else and now my purpose and existence must be replaced too.  Michael, I am failing for words, can you help?”

“G, without your essence in the other realm, it is being corrupted.  There has been a reduction in the human souls leaving the other realm, but Lucifer has reported it is not by choice.  The humans are not finding resolution nor are being given the options of returning to your essence.  Many have been reabsorbed into Z’s essence.”

I was troubled by what I was hearing, but I couldn’t make sense of this idea of corruption. “I must see this for myself.  Can you show me?”

Michael looked gravely at Lucifer, “I do not think we can enter without risk to our own essence.”

“I will prevent any alternation to your being, Michael.  Do not forget, you are from me, and thus, you will remain.  I must see what’s happening, so I can help Lucifer and the other angels I their realm.  Has Z been made aware of the changes.”

A look of apprehension went around everyone gathered.  Finally, Gabriel spoke, “G, this is a happening which seems to be orchestrated by Z.  Intentional or accidental, it is hard to tell, but Z is at the root of this corruption.”

If I could feel sick to my stomach, I think I would have curled into a fetal position at the thought of Z corrupting this other realm.  There had to be a reason for this.  Z wouldn’t knowingly destroy or corrupt.  Perhaps he was working through changes to make the place better.  HIs essence would feel different from mine, but it was concerning the others had claimed Z was absorbing the essence of my human creations.  Would he be so reckless as to absorb my essence?  How is it I did not know this was happening?

“I will need to speak to Z.  He can give answers to what is befalling the other realm.”

Lucifer and his group of angels looked dismayed.  “Please, do not tell him we brought this to you.  He has wrought punishment upon us when we do not act according to his will since he came to overtake our essence.”

Had I heart, it would have stopped beating.  Z had punished the angels? In what way?

“What has he done?” I managed to exclaim.

“Those of us responsible for sharing the options with the humans, we were advised to stop sharing options and instead let the humans exist in our realm on their own until they drew their own conclusions about existence.  We have found ways to show them their options, but Z has punished those found sharing with the human spirits.  He removed them from existence, G.”

I looked at Lucifer and the other angels with all the compassion I had in my being.  I had failed them and as a result, they had lost their fellow angels.  And Z had done something with their essence.  This was not part of the agreement.  I had to speak to him and seek to right the wrongs he had created.

“I will go at once to speak with Z and the others. Remain here on earth for the time being. Take hold of my essence once more and be renewed in your hope that these things will not stand.”

Before I left, I gave Lucifer and the other dissenting angels present a piece of my essence.  I carved out the essence of Z within them and gathered it into my keeping. I retained it separate from myself so as to give back to Z when I spoke with him.

They hailed me with thanks as I departed.  “Stay here and wait for my return.  Michael, come with me with the other realm. Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel, remain here with this group.  Begin to plan the reconstruction of the other realm by laying out the corrupted areas and identifying options for providing a remedy.  There is nothing I cannot do.”

Michael and I departed for the other realm and arrived to find a place that felt like a shell of what it once was.  The fabric of the realm seemed to be interlaced with sadness.  That’s the best way I can describe it to a human reader, but it was heavy and dejected.  The human souls we encountered were defeated.  One such soul we encountered was walking through what could be described as dark caverns with rocky floors.  The soul of the human seemed to be being shred into pieces as the being was stuck in a thought somewhere else completely.  There was torment all over the soul.

Seeing many such souls, I looked to Michael.  “You must gather the souls that you can under my decree.  Take them to our realm and work with the healing legions to repair their brokenness.”

I gave Michael a flaming sword with which to attract and guide the souls.  The light dancing across the blade surpassed that of the grandest energy star.  He took the light and made haste through the many places of this realm.  Gathering souls as he went.  I knew he would not be able to bring them all, but he would need to start somewhere.

I made my way to what could be described as a grand palace where once Lucifer and his angels had resided.  It was abandoned by the dissenting angels, and in their place, I found new creatures.  Creatures with horns and limbs in places that did not seem correct.  Some had many heads, some had many eyes, and others had many tongues coming from one head. There were creatures with long talons and wings, and there were creatures bent in shapes that defied the logical rules of creation I adhered to.  These were not my creatures.

Upon entering the palace, I made my way to a grand hall.  Once, the hall had been adorned with stars and gemstones.  Now, the hall was desolate and abandoned.  The only adornment being what looked like skulls and bones.  It was as if death had overtaken this place entirely.

“Z! Z, where are you?” I called in a panic thinking Z might have succumbed to whatever it was that had overtaken this place.  “Z, I need to speak with you.  It is urgent.”

I knew he would hear my calls, regardless of where he was in space and time, so I waited for him to arrive in the moment. After a long period of time, what could have been hundreds of years in earth measurements, a door at the end of the hall opened.  Through it came a procession of creatures unlike any I had ever seen.  They had the same characteristics of the other creatures I’d encountered on my way into the palace.  Horns and spiked tails, eyes in places where eyes should not be.  The wrongness about about these creatures was palpable.

Z entered behind the procession, seated on a floating throne of bones and metal. I almost did not recognize him. “Z,” I stammered in shock, “What have you done with yourself?”

Z let out a laugh that was hollow and cold.  “I have not done anything, G.  I have simply created my own existence as I desire it to be.  Are you not impressed with my creations?”

It took me a moment to comprehend Z was being serious.  He’d never been one for jokes, that was Cheri’s thing.  Still, looking at him and the lack of grandiose of the creatures I knew were his, I felt revulsion. “What is there to be impressed with?  You have created what could be described as monsters.  The conventions you have used in your defy logic or reason.  Everything reeks of death, decay, and torment.  What is this place to you Z?”

I was dumbfounded.  The Z I had known for all of space and time was in front of me, yet he was entirely different.  His very nature had altered in a way I could not understand.

“Come now, G, you must be able to surmise the happenings in my essence.  As I’m sure Lucifer has told you, since my essence replaced yours, things have changed in this realm.”

“Yes, he did tell me many things. You have been absorbing my humans, my essence.  You have also been absorbing my angels. Z, the taking of essence without ritualized giving is,” I couldn’t find the right words to describe how terrible his transgressions were. “Its not right, Z.”

Z’s essence honed in on mine, and I could feel a threatening power behind his gaze. “Who is to determine what is right and what is wrong, G? Is that not for each of our being to determine of our own accord? What gives you the right to say this place and my actions are wrong.”

“You are correct, Z.” I tried to shift tactics, “It is not for me alone to pass judgment.  Let us call a council with Cheri and Alpha and talk about what is and is not correct here.”

At that, Z let out an even more corrupted laugh than he had before.  He bellowed on for what felt like a century as he mused over some unknown thought. I felt deeply disturbed by his actions and could sense something more was amiss here.

“G, I have some news to break to you.  Cheri and Alpha, have, given themselves to me.  That is to say, their essence is now mine, and they are no more.  I tried to invite you to the joining ritual, but you were busy with your earthlings.”

Every molecule of my existence froze in that moment.  Cheri and Alpha… there was no way they’d give themselves to Z.  What was he talking about?  Could they truly be no more? What had possessed him to be saying these things?

“Z you must not be telling the truth.”

“You already know that I am, Z.”

And he was right.  I did know he was telling the truth.  Everything in my being knew he had violated the natural laws of our existence.  I could feel what remained of Cheri and Alpha running through his creations.  I could hear the almost whispers of their voices as they urged me to leave that place with whatever parts of them remained intact.

“Your little earthly experiment inspired me, dear G.  You should be honored to have such a profound influence on my existence.”

“You make a mockery of the beauty I created.  You have made a mockery of our the existence of our very beings.  There are others who will agree to what I am saying, and you know you cannot remain as you are.”

Z toyed with a creature near his right side twisting and turning the thing this way and that.  Distorting the already disgusting creature into a mess of skin and horns and blood.

“There are no others who can face me, G. They have all seen what I am capable of.  All of them, except for you apparently.  Where have you been lately?  You seem a little out of touch with reality.  Let me catch you up on a few things.”

At that, Z strode toward me and grabbed my essence in his hands.  I struggled to break free of his grip and a he only latched on harder. “None of that, G.  I only want to show you a few things.  The more you struggle the more enjoyable this will be for me, so I won’t tell you to stop.  You will miss a few things if you don’t focus your attention in the right places though.”

Z pulled me to a new portion of the realm that had not been there when I created it.  There were flames, molten lava, and devices that appeared at a glance to be used for torturing of the human souls.  “What is this place, Z?” I grimaced in horror at the perversion of this place.

“This is where the souls that fail to live up to your expectations come to die, G.”

He let the weight of his words sink into the silence that followed his admission.

“You created such a beautiful, perfect world, yet you have souls that cannot abide by their own nature.  They are abominations in the face of the beauty you create.  I use this place to extract their perversion of nature before dissolving their spirits into my essence.  I can’t have that kind of negative energy joining with mine.

The scene before me was unlike any I’d seen before.  The wreak of havoc and chaos combined with feelings of despair hung heavy in the air.  I could feel the pleading of the souls gathered there, begging for reprieve for mercy.  I used that moment to remove every creature still of my essence from that realm.  Z saw what I was doing and tried to stop me, but I could not be stopped.  I expanded into my essence and called back all the souls trapped in this place.  The wounded, the perverse, the healed, the despaired, all of them I called back to me.

They came flooding into my essence by the millions, and for a short time, I was overwhelmed with the amount of essence I’d renewed myself with.  I would need it to face what was to come next.

“What do you think you are doing, G?  These souls are in my realm and mine to do with what I please.  How dare you take any action towards them.”

I’d never felt enraged before this moment.  I’d seen it in my humans and even in some of my angels, but it was not a feeling I’d grown to know in my pure form of existence.  Now though, this feeling of insurmountable anger and disgust at Z’s betrayal of the realm I had entrusted to him seemed as if it would consume me. I turned to Z, not knowing what I would do next, but knowing it would be greater than anything I’d ever done before.

“How dare I?” My essence grew in size as my rage ran through me.  I was now towering over Z, who’s face had gone from challenging to apprehensive as he saw my essence transforming. “How dare I take back what is rightfully mine.  That which you have promised to look after and reduced to complete and utter perversion.  How dare I?” This time it was I who laughed, but it was not hollow and the sound rang like a trumpet throughout all of space and time.

I did not see what happened as my essence grew and took a new form.  I did not realize the legions of angels Michael and the others had gathered behind me.  I did not see Lucifer and his group of remaining dissenting angels gathering with the others.  I did not see the others of my being gathering from all corners of existence to this place and in space and time.  All of my attention was squarely focused on Z.

“What do you have to say for yourself, Z?  Who do you think you are to betray your very own.  To consume Alpha and Cheri in a ritual that I know for certain they did not want.  I can hear it now in what remains of them in you.  They did not want what you did and were tricked as I was tricked.  What drove you to these deeds?  Jealousy? Perverse creativity?  What could possibly justify the actions you have taken against your very own?”

I demanded answers from Z and with the words I was speaking, I realized I was hurtling mountain sized blasts of energy and anger towards him.  He wasn’t defenseless and deflected some of these blasts, but he was overcome by the sheer magnitude of the energy I was unleashing on his being.

I continued to hurl questions and energy blasts at him until he was reduced to near rubble. His essence was still in tact, but he could not make a motion against me.  I could feel what remained of Cheri and Alpha seeping out of him. Though they could not take their own forms ever again, I could sense them fleeing from Z’s being.

“I will destroy you Z, but first you will answer.  You will answer before all the creations you and I have made, and all the others of our kind.  Then, I will reduce you to nothing.  You will only be remembered as a dark scar among our kind. You will be an example of what not to be and how not to act.  Your name will never be spoken again, and your existence will only be remembered for its perverseness of nature.”

“I have done nothing other than create what I desired,” Z still tried to defend his actions.  “Cheri and Alpha came willingly to my being.”

“Enough of the lies,” I cut him off.  “You will tell the truth now or you will never speak again.”

We both knew my time and effort’s spent creating earth and all the life forms on it along with the realms I’d created for my hosts of angels has increased my abilities beyond that of any other of our kind.  I was more powerful than any who would challenge me, including Z.  I seeped into his mind, tell the truth while you still have the capacity to do so.”

With that, Z trembled and fell to his knees.  “Please, G, do not judge me so harshly.  I have experimented with creation as you did once upon a time.  My creations are different than yours and that’s okay. “

“What is not okay, Z,” I cut him off once more, “is your use of my essence.  You took it upon yourself to absorb my angels, my humans, my essence into yours.  And when that wasn’t enough, you consumed Cheri and Alpha.  Admit this is true.”

By now all the hoards of heaven and all the beings of our kind were staring as intently at Z as I had been.  There was no where for Z to turn and no more lies he could utter. I could hear the murmurings between the others of our nature.  They were equally disgusted with Z’s consumption of essence.

“Your gluttony for essence corrupted this place that was meant to be healing for human spirits.  Your greed for the power brought by essence led you to dissolve your own kind.  Now your lust for the power of essence will be your downfall.”

“I admit.” Z’s voice was barely a whisper.

“What was that?  I cannot hear you.” I yelled at Z.

“ I did it.  I did everything you have accused me of doing.”

“How long were you lying to me about your intentions Z? Through all of this? When di you become so corrupted?”

Z was wailing now as the reality of what was to come of him started to take form in his mind.  “Please, G, you have to forgive me.  It wasn’t all a lie.  I promise.”

“Your promises mean nothing to me now, Z.”

“G, I didn’t mean to be this way.  I tried to be like you, but I couldn’t match what your essence could do.”

“So you took my essence like a thief?”

Z looked downcast, “yes, G.  I took your essence.  First I siphoned a few wayward souls that wanted to be dissolved back into you. The power of your essence from them was unlike anything I have ever experienced, G.”

“So you took more? You disgust me you fowl, wretched creature. You do not deserve to exist.”

The murmurings of those of our kind gathered around echoed the same sentiments and thoughts I was sharing.  Z had gone too far in his actions.

“Please, I was weak.  It was,” Z stumbled to find words, “addicting to feel your essence.  I needed more, craved more.  It was all I could think about.”

“And Alpha and Cheri?” I threw the words back at him. “You just needed more of a fix for their essence to?”

“They caught on to what I was doing.  They were going to tell you and the others.  I begged them to give me time to make it right, but they.. they wouldn’t listen.  I didn't know what else to do.  With your essence in mine, I could stop them.”

“And you would do it all over again, wouldn’t you Z?”

He could not face that question with a lie.  It was written all over his disheveled face. “Yes, G, I would.”

With his admission of his crimes, my rage decreased, so I could once again take in the world outside of Z.  I fully recognized the others of our nature circling and discussing the events and confessions laying before them.  I saw Michael and the Arch Angels standing ready to take whatever action I asked of them.

“Fellow beings I have cornered Z and revealed the atrocities he has committed against our kind.  There can be no repairing or restoration of my essence or that of Cheri and Alpha’s.  There can be no remedy for the wrongs he has committed.  What then shall become of him?”

I looked to the others now for a common understanding of what would happen to Z.  My earlier threats still seemed like the most viable option, but it was not for me alone to decide Z’s fate.

After a time, another member of our being spoke, I’ll call him T.  “Z’s actions will have consequences for he violated his own kind, but G, your actions in creation have increased the power of your essence in a manner that is unpredictable.  The very nature of your being has been altered. It was so powerful it became an addiction for one of our own. No one should feel the need to possess such power.”

I could not disagree with the statement T was making, though I did not like the direction this was heading.

“Z must face consequences, so we will deal with him first.  But G, you will come before us after we deal with Z, and you too will be required to face changes.”

“Understood.”  I could not argue that the growth of my power had corrupted another.  I would take action to prevent the same from occurring again.  Yet, I also understood we must first deal with Z.

“As for you, Z, the others agree it is only fair that you be striped of your existence.  Your essence will be absorbed into the fabric of the grander existence, and you will cease to exist as you are.  Never again will you be allowed to take shape, to move freely about the multiverse, or to create any life form.  Your name will never be spoken again, and the memory of you will be used only as a lesson of what happens when one abuses his own kind.”

Upon those words, the others begin to encircle Z.  I joined with them as we stripped him of his being.  This undoing ritual had never before been used and to my knowledge has not been used since.  We evaporated his form and then began to take small pieces of his essence from what was left of him.  Each of us spread the essence we took across the multiverse.  Hiding it in energy stars and weaving it into the fabric of existence in small patches.  It took many thousands of years to complete, but when it was done, there was no more Z.

The creations and realm that remained were dissolved in the same fashion.  There was nothing I could do to save the realm, and as Michael and the other angels had by this time removed the remaining humans fashioned with my essence, there was only the destruction of what was once Z’s essence.

When it was all said and done, we were all depleted for several centuries.  We did not speak of what had happened or what would become of my creations.  We just resided in our being doing the things that brought us joy.

I could not bring Lucifer and his remaining angels back to my realm as my power had been weakened, so they were left to roam the earth.  Michael and the other angels remained in their posts, but they too were weakened by the dissolution of Z.  As for the humans and earth, well, they didn’t fare well.

Rumors of the hell that Z had created spread across the human race.  Organized religions took root and though I and the angels did what we could to create peace and love from the organizations, there were those among the humans who continued to go against human nature.  They used what was good to harness power and corrupt others.

The atrocities committed in my name, the torturing, rapes, murders, and other such foul deeds were like a stark reminder of the corruption my essence had created within Z.  Was my very own essence then corrupt?

Every time a new atrocity reared its head, I responded back in kind with waves of people with a purpose to bring light and love to the world.  With a sole goal of trying to help humanity be better, do better, and live happily.  However, the recycling of souls and cleansing of wayward spirits was not something I could put back into place.  With my powers depleted with the passing of Z, all I could do was recycle those who could do better and hope their next lifespan would lead them to a better ending.

The worst offenders caused me to reset time.  Hitler and the Nazi’s were a major offender.  It took more than 200 resets before I finally balanced the equation enough to save more lives than were lost in the destruction his demented soul wrought upon the earth.  There were genocides in Africa that escalated to nuclear destruction of the earth.  Again, several hundred resets to get the equation right. To set the path of destruction to a path of progress and healing.

Now though, I had reset the earth so many times, that I couldn’t remember what it started out as without going back in time and space to relive the early days.  How had my beautiful intentions been misdirected so many times?  Was it my nature to be as destructive as I was creative? Is that what broke through into the humans? Could I have done better?  Should I have never created humans?

I asked these questions to myself, to the others of my being, and to the humans I shared space with on earth and in heaven.  None held the answers I sought, but yet they always offered glimmers of hope.  I had created and that was something that should not be diminished.

So dear reader, I must now bring you to the final piece of this story.  The others of my being had instructed that my essence would be dealt with in time.  It had been several millennia since the dissolution of Z when a counsel was called to determine how to deal with my essence.

All the beings of my nature gathered at the center of the multi-verse.  My Arch Angels and some of my most beloved human spirits gathered with me to support me through the proceedings.

First, I was asked to share the story of my creations.  I fielded questions about the intentions of my creations.  I was faced with questions about the strength and magnitude of my powers.  I was even faced with questions about my role in the undoing of Z. After several hundreds of years spent telling and retelling my story and answering the questions along the way, the counsel was finally satisfied it had collected all the knowledge it needed to form a decision.

T took the lead in speaking again as he had in the dissolution of Z. “G, it is with great patience and honesty that you have shared about your creations. We see your intentions were pure and you did not seek to have powers beyond those of your kind.  Yet in creating your creatures and realms, your powers have grown to such an extent that they corrupted one of our own.”

T paused to give me an opportunity to speak, but I deferred and gave him a nod to continue.

“The balance of existence has been altered by the strength you have created in yourself.  We do not seek to punish you for creativity, but we must put back into balance that which has been altered.  We must dissolve your creations to do so, the essence of which will be absorbed into the fabric of existence and not back into your own.  Do you understand what must be done?”  T was gentle in his questioning and gave me a look that conveyed he wished there could be another way.

“I understand what must be done.” I spoke not just to T, but to all gathered including my dearest creations.  They looked at me with such understanding and compassion for the dissolution  I would have to undergo. I did not long for the retention of my power, only for the retention of the beautiful creatures I had brought into existence.

“Must all of my creations be dissolved?” I knew the answer, but had to ask.

“Yes, G, they must all be dissolved, but the memory of each will live on and reside with the beings of your nature.   You will remain in tact, and your ability to create will remain with you, but you will be limited in the creations you make from this point on.  All of us will be limited by the same constraints from this point on, so as to remain fair to all  as well as to prevent another dissolution of our kind.”

“We understand the lengths you have gone through to create a beautiful world, G, and we will not strip that from you until you are ready.  We understand your creations have a knack for self destruction.  We will permit you to retain your creations until their next self destruction, but then, we will perform an act of dissolution of your creations and your realm of Heaven.”

This counsel was far off from the space and time I exist in now, but it holds true that this last self-destructive act of mankind will be its last.  I am sitting here watching it unfold with my Arch Angels and some the other residents of heaven.  This is an ending we have known would come, but the knowing doesn’t make it easier to watch.

I have been told I cannot create the same kinds of existences again, and for that I am deeply saddened.  Still, I will cherish the memories I have made with these humans and angels.  I will replay moments in time and space with them over and over anytime I feel I miss them.  I will honor the end of their existence by dancing through the multi-verse and sharing their stories with any and all who will listen.

An ending is always a new beginning.
