What was given and what was taken?

What was he to you

He saved me

He saved me from a life I didn’t want

I saved me

He offered support

He offered love

He offered shelter

You took it

There was nothing wrong with that

You took it and you lived in it

You wrapped yourself in the closest shelter you could find

As you realized you were not under threat

As you became familiar with yourself,

You shared moments with him

He showed me so many things

New culture

New technology

How do my job

He helped progress my partner skills

He contributed to my communication growth

He taught me how not to communicate ;)

He helped me be vulnerable again

He taught me another form of love

All the love it has a home in my heart

But there’s only home for one man

And alas, it is not him

That thought…

Maybe that’s fleeting

Maybe its the pain

Maybe its the truth

I tend to trust myself and am going with my honesty

It is all I have left
